It’s no secret, I’m a fan of the puff sleeve and have been embracing the 80s trend for quite some time now. ! It’s edgy, it’s dramatic and it’s definitely a look from any high fashion magazine! It screams power and represents a woman in charge, well for me at-least! It’s more than a look, it’s a feeling. I’m drawn to voluminous puffy sleeve dresses, blazers and shirts because I’m obsessed with structured garments that are defined in its shape. I love pieces that remain true to its form despite the shape of the woman wearing them!
If you’re looking to make a bold statement, the puff sleeve is the way to go! It’s an eye-catcher elevating any look. There are also many designers who took a stab at the trend including Valentino, Saint Laurent and Marc Jacobs to name a few! But if you’ve been following my blog, you know “I shop smarter not harder”. I love to look great without breaking the bank. To dive into the trend, stores like Mango, Zara, Forever 21 and H&M have created more affordable pieces! I actually purchase the dress pictured from Pretty Little Thing for only $35 and it’s now on sale for $20! A major steal!!!!! Now don’t get me wrong, I love spending less but I’m big on the quality of any item purchased. I was pleasantly surprised when the dress arrived as the fabric was very rich ! It looks expensive lol.
I paired the dress with the cutest tie up snake print heeled sandals from SIMMI London! They are super comfortable and sexy. To complete the look I went for a low slick back ponytail to not over-power the puff sleeve, added the bold oversized door knocker earrings and the cutest mini black purse from Charles and Keith!
I hope you like this look and much as I do!
Thanks for stopping by! Xo
