Outside of my obsession with structured white shirts is my deep love for the Trench coat! It’s a classic piece originated in the late 1800s when durable outwear was a necessity for British and French soldiers during World War I! With the progression of time, it has developed into a staple piece for not only the fashion runway but has become essential for my wardrobe.
The Trench coat is the epitome of a timeless garment. Designers have modernized the trench by incorporating intricate detailing including a wide range of different fabrics, textures, colors and patterns. My favorite brands embracing the trench are Burberry, Ports 1961, Phillip Lim, Pixie Market, Alexander Wang, Theory, and Coach.
The versatility of this timeless piece is undeniable and the ways in which a trench can be worn is limitless. It can be worn in variety of different ways to compliment any occasion. It can be worn as business attire for the workplace, with jeans and sneakers for a more casual and effortless vibe, with platform boots as military attire or worn as a dress for a sexy and seductive evening.
Summer is now over and the Fall season is here. It’s that weird time of the year, as the weather transitions from hot and humid to cooler and crisp temperatures. Some days are jacket-less days, while others require some layering. In times such as this, I highly recommend investing in a trench coat as its the perfect transitional piece.
I purchased this lightweight hooded beauty and all of its detailing from ASOS. The belted cuffs really modernizes the classic trench along with the detachable hood and the removable self-tied belt to accentuate the waistline. It’s also super affordable and very comfortable. I paired the trench with my Olcay Gulsen Pumps (one of my personal favs to date) and completed the look with the gorgeous Benedetta Bruzziches gold knotted handle bag.
I hope you love it as much as I do! Thanks for stopping by!
